Store Manager
We are seeking a Full-Time Store Manager to lead House of Lir — a newly created, curated boutique at Kilkea Castle.
House of Lir is not a traditional hotel shop. It is a carefully built space rooted in Irish heritage, craftsmanship, nature, and story. It exists to protect what is precious, connect people to place and maker, and nurture a deeper appreciation for beauty, land, and tradition.
This is a rare opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up.
Kilkea Castle is a 140-bedroom family-owned resort set on 180 acres of ancient woodland and landscape. Our team is the heart of everything we do, and we are proud to be Great Place to Work 2025 certified and recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in Hospitality 2025.
But House of Lir is something new — something intimate, thoughtful, and evolving.
The Opportunity
We are looking for someone who sees this role as more than retail.
This is an opportunity to help shape and grow a brand from its earliest chapter. To build relationships with Irish artisans. To guide guests through stories of craft and place. To create an atmosphere that feels intentional, calm, and quietly extraordinary.
You will protect the integrity of the brand. You will connect guests to meaning. You will nurture its growth with care and commercial intelligence.
Who You Are
You are steady and self-assured without ego. You have a refined eye and a love of visual presentation. You are deeply curious — about history, craftsmanship, materials, and people.
You enjoy storytelling. You notice small details. You think beyond the transaction.
You are both creative and operationally strong — equally comfortable discussing margin and merchandising as you are explaining the story behind a handwoven blanket or artisan chocolate.
You believe retail can feel human.

- Oversee daily boutique operations
- Maintain the aesthetic integrity and visual standards of House of Lir
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are carried out with care
- Protect the atmosphere and energy of the space

- Build relationships with hotel guests, wedding parties, and returning visitors
- Guide guests through craftsmanship and heritage with authenticity

- Maintain balanced, profitable inventory
- Collaborate with makers on restocks and custom orders
Brand Building
- Help shape how the boutique evolves
- Support product launches and new collections
- Represent House of Lir thoughtfully with artisans and partners
- Contribute ideas that strengthen the Protect • Connect • Nurture ethos
Financial Awareness
- Track weekly and monthly sales
- Identify opportunities for growth
- Maintain margin awareness and cost discipline
Experience & Skills
- Previous boutique or luxury retail management experience
- Strong organisational and inventory management ability
- Confidence with reporting and commercial performance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Appreciation for Irish heritage, craftsmanship, and storytelling
- A calm, thoughtful leadership presence
- An artistic eye with operational discipline
Why This Role Is Special

This is an opportunity to grow alongside something meaningful.
