We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Maintenance Operative to join our growing team here at Kilkea Castle.

Job Description:    

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the hotel’s facilities are maintained to the highest standards, including general repairs, preventative maintenance, and painting where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks across the hotel, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address potential problems.
  • Undertake painting and decorating tasks to maintain the hotel’s aesthetic standards.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of equipment and furniture.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any major issues to management.
  • Support external contractors when required and ensure work is completed to standard.

Skills/Requirements

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally within a hospitality or similar environment.
  • Trade qualifications or certifications in maintenance-related fields required.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Skilled in painting and decorating with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks.
  • Minimum 12 months’ valid work permit required.
