Dublin GAA star Philly McMahon marries in lavish Kilkea wedding

Dublin GAA star Philly McMahon has married longtime girlfriend Sarah Lacey in a stunning castle wedding over the weekend. The pair exchanged their vows in SS Mary and Laurence Church, Crookstown, Athy before heading to Kilkea Castle to celebrate in style.

The gorgeous venue complimented the couple’s stunning looks for their big day as they had all eyes on them walking down the aisle. Sarah wore a beautiful low cut gown that trailed along the ground and was topped with an elegant lace material. With sheer sleeves and matching skirt, Sarah completed her look with a long veil sitting nicely at the back of her loose curls.

Philly didn’t look too shabby either dressed in a traditional tuxedo made up of a round waistcoat, cropped trousers, and a velvet blazer to add glitz to the look. And to make it all more memorable, Philly paid tribute to his late father and brother through his cufflinks by adding a picture of each.

The couple celebrated in style as a few famous faces popped by to help introduce the pair of newlyweds. Dean Rock, Kevin McManamon, boxer Bernand Dunne and Denis Bastick all made an appearance at the wedding.

As well as these, Philly’s Dublin teammates also stopped by including Paddy Andrews, Bernard Brogan, Darren Daly and Paul Flynn with team captain Stephen Cluxton, Eoghan O’Gara, Brian Fenton and Ciaran Kilkenny also popping in. Former manager Jim Gavin was also in attendance as guests were treated to a five star meal, entertainment from a magician and a live saxophone performance. The couple got engaged last December when Philly proposed under the Northern Lights during a holiday to Iceland.

In a snap to announced their engagement, Philly simply wrote ‘She said yes’ as they posed in the cold.
